Local Musical Director for Community Champion Chorus (freelance)

Julius Caesar – Royal Shakespeare Company, 2023

Norwich Theatre is seeking a freelance musical director to lead on the local rehearsals for a group of female identifying community champions for the Royal Shakespeare Company production of Julius Caesar in Norwich.

The Local Musical Director will be part of the recruitment process for their Community Champions Chorus (CCC) group and will lead rehearsals up until the Associate Musical Director joins their rehearsals in the week prior to each CCC group’s performances. They will also look after their CCC group during performances once the Associate Musical Director and Associate Director have moved to rehearse with the next CCC group in the next venue.

Fee: £2,465

Dance Leader


Norwich Theatre are supporting the recruitment of a local/regional Dance Leader to lead the creation and delivery of a community dance piece in response to the internationally-acclaimed ‘5 Soldiers’, which will open a new tour at Norwich Playhouse in April 2023. The community response will be a curtain raiser, sharing the stage and vision of Artistic Director Rosie Kay and her company K2CO Dance.

Please note this freelance role will be contracted by K2CO Dance, not Norwich Theatre. K2CO Dance are leading recruitment and selection. Norwich Theatre will support the successful candidate with delivery of the project.

Contract: January – April 2023, consisting of 5 full days and 6 half-day sessions.
Salary: £1500 inclusive of travel allowance.
Location: All stages of the project will take place at Norwich Theatre.
Recruitment Day: Tuesday 8th December

Access Performance Providers

Norwich Theatre are seeking to connect with local and national Freelance Providers to deliver a range of Audio Described, Captioned and Signed performances across our three stages.

Due to the nature of this work and delivery, engagement for performances will be as and when Norwich Theatre negotiates an access performance with the show’s producers as well as based on the providers portfolio of work.
