Kooth (for young people)
Kooth offers free emotional and mental health support for children and young people aged between 11 – 24 years and is available up to 10pm every day.
Friendly counsellors, self -help and community support.
Samaritans is a registered charity aimed at providing emotional support to anyone in emotional distress, struggling to cope, or at risk of suicide throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland, often through their telephone helpline.
We offer a safe place for you to talk any time you like, in your own way – about whatever’s getting to you. We won’t judge your or tell you what to do, we’ll listen to you.

Cruse Bereavement Care – HQ
Bereavement counselling and services across the country.
The Cruse Bereavement Care Freephone National Helpline is staffed by trained bereavement volunteers, who offer emotional support to anyone affected by bereavement. The helpline is open Monday-Friday 9.30-5pm (excluding bank holidays), with extended hours on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, when we’re open until 8pm.

WAY – Widowed & Young
Peer to peer support network for widowed men and women aged 50 and under.
WAY is a UK charity that offers a peer-to-peer support network for anyone who’s lost a partner before their 51st birthday – married or not, with or without children, whatever their sexual orientation. When you join WAY, there will always be someone to talk to – whether online through our members only website or closed Facebook groups, or in person at local and national meet ups. They have 3,000 members across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Bereavement support for the over 50’s
The Silver Line specially trained helpline team can:
- offer information, friendship and advice.
- link callers to local groups and services.
- offer regular friendship calls.
- protect and support older people who are suffering abuse and neglect.
68% of calls to the helpline are made at night and weekends. The Silver Line is confidential, free available to older people over 55 across the UK and open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days of the year.
During Children’s Grief Awareness Week, our spotlight falls this week on Winston’s Wish – Helping bereaved children rebuild their lives following the death of a parent or sibling.

The Compassionate Friends
A wide variety of services to support bereaved parents.
An organisation of bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings offering support, understanding and friendship to others after the loss of a child, of any age, from any cause. We offer a National Telephone Helpline, staffed by bereaved parents, and available for support and information 365 days a year, a website and moderated online forum and supportive social media groups, local support groups and contacts, weekend gatherings and retreats, information leaflets, bereavement support publications and a postal library. Some adult bereaved sibling support is also available.

Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide (SoBS)
Befriending and support for people bereaved by suicide of a family member or friend.
Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide (SoBS) is a registered national charity that exist to meet the needs and break the isolation of those bereaved by suicide, and over 18 years old. It is made up mainly of volunteers, nearly all of whom have themselves lost someone to suicide.
Peer-led support groups and national helpline can provide a safe, confidential environment in which those impacted by suicide can share experiences and feelings, thus giving and gaining support from each other.

Supporting children and young people aged 0 – 17yrs (inclusive), living in Norfolk, who have experienced the death of a Significant Person in their life e.g. parent, sibling, best friend.
