“I stood with my sisters in the queues of Motherhood –the weighing clinic, the supermarket – waiting for Motherhood’s bureaucracies to open their doors.
As required, I stood beneath the flag of Motherhood and opened my mouth although I did not know the anthem.”
-Liz Berry, The Republic Of Motherhood

The journey of motherhood is a personal one, and creative expression can help us process the beautiful, joyful and challenging stages of being a mum.

Creating through Motherhood: Writing will provide a space for mothers at any stage in their journey to connect with other mothers, talk about their experiences and work on a collection of writing inspired by their experience of motherhood.

Led by Miche Montague, Norwich-based director, playwright (WHO the WHO, WHO) and artistic director of MoCo Theatre, these sessions will provide you with ideas on how to express yourself through writing. Creating through Motherhood provides a chance to carve out some time in your week to focus on your creative side, meet and connect with other local mothers, and feel the benefits of putting pen to paper.

Learn new skills and form a creative support network. No experience necessary.

Every kind of mother and non-binary parent of any age is welcome. We welcome bumps and babes in arms, however there will be no provision for toddlers or children. The focus of these sessions is you, as a mother.
