Dance Day (Ages 7-10)
This event is in the past
Dance Day is an extended dance-based workshop – encouraging creativity, imagination and confidence through movement. Drawing from different music and dance styles, this energetic session will explore choreography, musicality and performance in a supportive and creative environment.
Expect a fun and accessible approach to dance, with no pressure, and no previous dance or movement experience required. The session is about enjoyment, encouraging creativity and collaboration. Participants will take part in games and exercises before exploring different dance and movement styles, from traditional dance to physical theatre. Each participant will be encouraged to input into the choreography of a group movement piece, as well as the chance to develop a solo or duet. Together the group will produce a short, original piece of dance.
Taking part in dance-based exercises has many mental and physical benefits; it encourages hand-eye coordination, balance and motor skills, increases confidence, resilience and is a great way to let off energy!
