Painting with Mud
This event is in the past
Enjoy the sensory experience of mark-making with the earth. Decide what message you want to share, and experiment with mud painting as you collaborate with community artists of all ages to decorate a large fabric tapestry.
These mud-painted flags will be designed and illustrated by you. Once the mud has dried we will fly our flags in celebration of local landscape, healthy soil, and community expression.
During the workshop, a carpet of white sheets will cover the floor and you will use an assortment of unconventional painting materials, including local mud, coffee grounds, sticks and leaves to make prints, marks and shapes on to the fabric. You will also decorate smaller sections of fabric to assemble as bunting or take home.
