Lord of the Flies (adaptation by Nigel Williams) by William Golding.

William Golding’s classic story of brutality, bloodshed and the decay of a miniature civilisation is brought to new life in this innovative all-female production by Stage Two’s Young Actors Company.

The year is 2020. Sea levels rise, wars rage, political division and mass hysteria reign supreme. In the middle of this terrifying landscape, a plane full of schoolchildren is shot down somewhere over the Pacific Ocean. Left entirely to their own devices, they can choose whether to make a paradise from their new island home, or whether to follow in the bloody footsteps of the adults they have left behind.

With an all-female cast taking on the traditional male roles of the abandoned children, this production externalises, through blunt and brutal action, the inner experiences girls are not normally permitted to express in modern society. With the intimate traverse space placing you right in the heart of the story, this shocking and thrilling tale of societal collapse is not to be missed.
