This new dance piece from the Natyapriya Dance Company bring this wonderful story to life, with vibrant dancing, beautiful music, sumptuous costumes, dramatic storytelling and their trademark humour.
The powerful King Daksha wants his beautiful daughter Sati to marry a handsome and almighty prince. So, when his daughter is besotted with the ash-smeared, dreadlocked God Shiva, he tries to change her mind by showing her many more worthy suitors.
Sati rejects all of them, marries Shiva and all would appear to be well, until they attend a grand celebration at the court of Daksha, which results in a terrible tragedy! In a story that redeems joy and salvation from the depths of grief, Shiva is reunited with the love of his life, only it takes him a while to realise it.
