Improve your wellbeing with a creative workshop connecting mind and body, run by Ruth Philips of SpeakUp Theatre.

Ruth is an inclusive theatre-maker, who through her company SpeakUp Theatre loves to explore real lives and tell the stories that don’t get heard. These stories include experiences of mental illness and the everyday challenges of maintaining positive well-being. Ruth is experienced at creating safe and fun spaces, in which anyone can explore how better understanding the link between our minds and our bodies, leads to more creative, confident lives.

This gentle workshop will comprise of activities to activate mindfulness and spark vital conversations around mental health. You’ll be invited to explore wellbeing through your body, with individual and groups exercises that you can engage with at your own level. By the end you’ll feel creatively energised, you’ll have learnt some techniques to take forward into your own life, and you’ll have got an insight into the work of SpeakUp Theatre.

You don’t need any performing or movement experience whatsoever, the session will be a supportive, relaxed environment and open to anyone over the age of 18. Come as you are, and enjoy some creative fun!’
