Writing and Poetry

Weekly creative socials for adults who want to meet people, have fun and try something new.

Every Tuesday, 12-1.30pm OR 7pm – 8.30pm. Why not head to Café Royal afterwards for a coffee and catch up with the group afterwards.

21 Sept – Introduction to Improv

Join us to learn the fundamental principles of the wonderful art-form of improv comedy. Through group games, exercises and scenes we’ll see how anyone and everyone can produce funny and moving scenes from nothing, by being in the moment and using the tools of collaboration.

Led by Chris Read, Dog Face Improv.

28 Sept, 12pm – 1.30pm Future Possibilities: Shakespeare in the 21st Century.

How do you keep 400 years of Shakespeare fresh? Join us for a coffee and a chat about how the Royal Shakespeare Company adapts to keep their work relevant and stimulating to an audience in the 21st Century. What are the possibilities of utilising modern technology to enhance Shakespeare’s work? What are the ethical implications of modernising text? How do the RSC inspire and engage new audiences?

Led by the Royal Shakespeare Company

(Please note, this discussion is free of charge, as part of Shakespeare Nation)
