The Sea is a Hungry Dog explores the people, landscape & weather of the coastal stretch between Weybourne and Sea Palling. Through interviews with multigenerational residents and visitors, the film documents the effect of the weather and coastal erosion on those who are directly affected by it.
Made in 2012, it presents a snapshot in time, showing some areas and buildings which were taken by the sea not long after. Shot on Super8, the film captures the unique light, movement, and beauty of this liminal part of our county, and watching it a decade later opens questions around the advancement of climate change, and the role of the arts within it.
