Writing through Motherhood
This event is in the past
“The garden swing sways gently from the boughs
But the shapes are changing in the landscape now
Gentle hills have become mountains too tall
to navigate in the mirrors upon the wall.
Thoughts spin round, reason has flown
The world she sees is not the world once known.”
….landscape of a girl…
The journey of motherhood is a personal one and creative expression can help us process the beautiful, joyful and also the challenging stages of being a mum.
Writing through Motherhood will provide a space for mothers at any stage in their journey to learn from peers, talk about their experiences and work on an anthology of words and poems inspired by their experience of motherhood.
Led by a poet, writer and mother to a toddler, these sessions will provide you with ideas on how to express yourself through writing and learn writing new skills.
This is an opportunity to form a creative support network and carve out some time in your week, focus on your creative side, and feel the benefits of putting pen to paper. No experience necessary.
Every kind of mother of any age is welcome. We also welcome babes in arms, however we are unable to provide any support for older babies or children. The focus of these sessions is you, as a mother.
