You are now booking:
Young Producers is an exciting participatory programme for young people aged 16-25 years. As well as learning more about the role of Producers in theatres and wider afield in the creative industries, you will be supported to produce Takeover events in the Autumn and other events within the Theatre Royal family of venues.
Young Producers is a unique opportunity to get brilliant experience for your CV. You will learn more about what it means to be a Producer: from understanding the workings of the arts industry; to gaining leadership skills; to learning about producing theatre; and skills such as organising events, marketing, scheduling, artist liaison, business and communications.
By becoming a Young Producer you will play a key role in the management and organisation of all events the group produce and programme. This is one of the best industry work experience opportunities out there for young people, emulated nationally. Run entirely by our Young Producers, they plan, program and deliver events throughout the year at Stage Two. Our Young Producers make all of the important decisions, organise and govern the events on behalf of Norwich Theatre.
We are looking for committed young people aged 16-25 who have great ideas and everyone is welcome! We would be particularly interested to hear from young people with an interest in any of the following: media arts, theatre and arts, press and marketing, graphic design, digital media, business management, finance and education and outreach.
You would need to be able to commit to attending regular weekly meetings on MONDAYS 6pm – 7pm at Stage Two throughout the duration of January – November. Attendance is not required every single week as we appreciate work rotas and other commitments will sometimes need to come first. You will also be invited to attend other events, workshops and conferences as part of the program. Details of such visits will be given as and when they happen.
Applications are open all year round but the main cohort is recruited in November / December to begin in January of each year. If you have any questions please email Rachel Lloyd – Production Officer.
Age recommendation: 16 - 25
Mondays 6pm – 7pm
Course runs January – November (attendance each week not compulsory)
