In Trouble in Tahiti, we follow Dinah and Sam, a seemingly perfect suburban couple whose American dream masks a crumbling marriage. While Sam escapes into work, Dinah seeks solace elsewhere, dreaming of paradise. A playful jazz trio adds a witty commentary on their suburban struggles.

Then, dive into the emotional world of La voix humaine, a powerful one-woman opera that depicts a woman’s final phone call with her lover. Poulenc’s music expertly captures the raw and shifting emotions of the piece. After several wrong connections, the woman finally hears the voice she’s been waiting for. Their conversation unfolds, revealing flirtation, love, anger, and despair as she makes one last desperate attempt to grasp onto their bond.
