On Monday 2 October, Norwich Theatre Playhouse played host to the Business of Climate Stories, a collaborative event aligned with our Creative Matters season, bringing business leaders and experts together to share their insights and knowledge on climate.

Over three passionate panel discussions, experts in the field of energy, aviation, print and accounting to name but a few, came together to share their thoughts and learnings on providing tangible takeaways which could be applied to all business. The aim being that whether you are new to your own environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and climate policies or already on the way, the event provided a safe space for sharing and collaborative discussion.

Each panel centred around a key topic – Business, People and Future – providing a guided journey on the trajectory businesses can take and the ways in which to do so, guided by the expertise and knowledge of our experienced panellists.

Edward Reed, Associate Training Director at Cornwall Insight and a speaker on our ‘People’ panel said on LinkedIn: ‘It was great to hear how other businesses are approaching and tackling the net zero transition and how Cornwall Insight is embedding policies and processes on our journey.”

Luca Feser of Team HODL (Hold on For Dear Life) was the keynote speaker for the occasion, providing audiences with a compelling re-telling of his journey rowing across the Pacific Ocean. This was a captivating story from Luca, as he detailed not only the physical but mental struggles this journey sparked, and was a real testament for endurance and strength.

Lauren Farley, Business Development Manager at Norwich Theatre said “Climate Stories are such an incredibly pertinent topic at the moment, so to bring so many passionate, enthusiastic speakers into the Playhouse was fantastic. Knowing that within the room we had individuals who are extremely knowledgeable in their respective fields, who were able to provide learnings for those in the audience, was always a key factor in what we wanted the event to achieve. The passionate conversation, thought-provoking questions and buzz in the room were genuinely pleasing to see, and we really hope those who spent the day with us took their own learnings away from the experience.”

Norwich Theatre continues to provide opportunities for business to engage with our organisation, with events such as the Business of Climate Stories and our own corporate packages.
