Assistant Director Business Planning & Risk
Assistant Directors at Norwich Theatre work in partnership with the Directors Team to form part of a Strategy Group collectively responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of Norwich Theatre’s strategy. These key roles act as an ambassador for Norwich Theatre’s vision, mission and values in representing the organisation in a variety of settings. Collectively and individually, Assistant Directors have ownership and accountability for elements of organisational performance and monitoring.
The Assistant Director Business Planning and Risk will support the Finance Director and Chief Resource Officer in terms of longer-term business planning, both financial and other resource related.
Overseeing the Finance, IT and Data Analysis functions, and working collaboratively with SLT colleagues, you will identify growth opportunities and strategic projects for future planning. The emphasis will be on data-centric decision-making processes using data from multiple sources and the application of these in our growth strategy.
This new position will enable faster and more consistent decision making on new and developmental organisational projects through accurate financial modelling, risk assessment and data analysis.

You are likely to have significant experience of leading, motivating, coaching, mentoring, and developing highly performing teams to achieve organisational goals and personal growth.
You will have experience of organisational performance monitoring through the development of strategic organisational KPI’s. You will demonstrate the ability to anticipate potential challenges and opportunities to inform the development of strategies and plans to achieve organisational goals.
With clear financial and commercial acumen, an analytical background and strong problem-solving skills, you will have the ability to interpret data insights to drive strategic decision making, the ability to identify emerging trends and growth opportunities and innovate responsibly. An understanding and implementation of risk assessment practices and management strategies is also essential in order to act as an advisor in decision-making by the Executive Director team.
