It is Norfolk Day on Saturday 27 July and at Norwich Theatre we are celebrating all the fantastic local creatives that act, sing, dance, read poetry and make us laugh all on our three stages.

The Nimmo Twins – If You Tolerate Diss, Your Children Will Be Next | 25 Aug | Norwich Theatre Royal
Norfolk’s favourite comedy duo, Karl Minns and Owen Evans, aka The Nimmo Twins, have been making the region laugh for more than 25 years with quintessentially Norfolk humour.
This time, the popular pair is back with a brand new Normal for Norfolk show of sketches, songs, and monologues that have sold out the Playhouse and so, for one night only, appearing on the Norwich Theatre Royal stage.
STREE: A Double Bill | 7 Sep | Norwich Theatre Stage Two
Natyapriya Dance Company have been delighting Norfolk audiences with classical Indian dance in the Bharatanatyam tradition since 1996.
STREE sees the all-female company break new ground by fusing Indian traditional dance forms with contemporary movement to give space to their own voices.
The SpongeBob Musical | 9 – 13 Oct | Norwich Theatre Playhouse
Norwich-based performance group Sound Ideas Theatre Company are taking on nautical nonsense this October.
All of SpongeBob’s friends will be there Patrick Star, Sandy, Squidward, Mr Krabs, Plankton and even Gary the snail! The show follows these marine misfits from the celebrated TV series as they discover a volcano will soon erupt and destroy Bikini Bottom. SpongeBob puts his trust in his friends as they try to save the day. Expect colour, high-energy, laughs, fun, and a constant supply of songs.
Taverham Band 50th Anniversary Concert | 20 Oct | Norwich Theatre Playhouse
Formed by a small team of villagers, Taverham Band now consists of some 36 volunteer members performing a wide range of concerts and charitable events across Norfolk and beyond.
Vocalist Ben Lake (The Voice UK and West End performer) is reuniting with the Band to mark their special year with a Gala Concert at the Norwich Theatre Playhouse.
Lewis Buxton: FRIEND | 25 Oct | Norwich Theatre Stage Two
Lewis Buxton is a poet and theatremaker described by the Eastern Daily Press as being ‘a performer in full control of his craft’.
In this 60-minute show, Lewis will share poems for his best mates, confess his darkest secrets, and, with his trademark welcoming wit, ask how on earth a man in his thirties makes new friends.
Norwich – A Love Story | 28 Oct | Norwich Theatre Playhouse
Norwich-based writer, theatre-maker, and storyteller John Osborne created a show in celebration of all things Norwich in recognition of the two decades he spent in the fine city.
The show saunters through the city, relishing the bustle of the marketplace, the timeless beauty of the cathedral and the indispensable items available in Thorne’s.
Aladdin | 7 Dec – 5 Jan | Norwich Theatre Royal
A Norfolk adventure like no other and a Genie-us delight for the whole family. Expect colourful costumes, singing, dancing and more glitter than you could shake a magic carpet at!
Starring Norfolk’s favourite Joe Tracini, who is back in Norwich’s panto for his fifth year. He will be playing Aladdin’s brother Reg and getting up to his usual mayhem, trying to help his family’s pie shop get through troubling times.
Singin’ in the Rain | 28 Jan – 1 Feb
The Norfolk and Norwich Operatic Society (NNOS) is one of the UK’s leading amateur theatre companies, performing top quality musicals and next year they are marking their 100th year.
To celebrate this milestone they will be taking to Norwich Theatre Royal with golden-age musical Singin’ in the Rain. Featuring some of the best-loved comedy routines ever, plus toe-tapping dance numbers and classic musical theatre songs, including Good Mornin’, Make ‘em Laugh, Broadway Melody, and the show-stopping title number, Singin’ in the Rain.
It will be a very busy 2025 for NNOS, as they have also been chosen to take part in a project to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Les Misérables. The production will be at the Norwich Theatre Royal in July next year and will go on sale soon.
