Norwich Theatre hosts a variety of different audiences and bright and early last week, our beautiful Theatre Royal Long Bar welcomed our Corporate Community for an exclusive Business Networking Breakfast.
Lauren Farley, Business Development & Events Coordinator spoke about the event: “It was lovely to get the whole corporate community together. Events like these allow us to connect with our varied network of businesses whilst offering them a chance to meet and collaborate face to face.”
More than 50 people came together from 24 businesses to build and maintain relationships with other organisations that love and support the arts. The breakfast is one of the many benefits of joining our corporate community. Speaking about the benefits of the breakfasts, Helen Tavner at SG Wealth Management – a new Norwich Theatre Sponsor – said: “A massive benefit is the business networking events as it gives us a chance to see other people in the business community. There is definitely a synergy to being able to help each other and cross-share business.”
Guest Speaker on the day was Elspeth Hunter, Creative Engagement Projects Manager, who spoke about this year’s Creative Matters season Climate Stories. This year long exploration will use storytelling and involve many partners, including businesses, in activities and performances to stimulate discussion about climate change. Commenting on the importance of sharing businesses’ climate stories Ryan Aldred from Smith and Pinching said: “There is a growing public pressure on businesses and companies to show that they are interested. I think business leaders have to show that they are consciously interested and want to do this, so telling those kinds of stories is what everyone needs to be doing.”
Our Corporate community is growing from strength to strength and is made up of a diverse range of businesses that support the theatre and the work it does in the community. Speaking about the support provided by our corporate community Lucy Butcher Fosters Solicitors said: “There are, of course, benefits to us, but also it is really important to support local whether that is businesses or charities. It is something at Foster’s we are really keen on, and being able to see what work the theatre does in the community brings it much closer to home.”
Becoming a corporate member or sponsor gives individual businesses an amazing range of benefits, such as priority booking and discounts on shows. It gives them access to events designed especially with our corporate community in mind.
“I would massively recommend it to others, loads of our staff members have bought tickets which is brilliant, but there are still a lot more things I know we can do, which I am excited about”, commented Lucy.
