With the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in full swing, August is often the quietest month of the year for theatre shows to go on sale. But while this month’s on sale at Norwich Theatre might be small, it is mighty, featuring the master of psychological illusions, Derren Brown, the sensational musical The Rocky Horror Show, and comedians to keep you laughing.
Derren Brown (24 – 28 Jun 25) brings his mind control skills back to Norwich Theatre Royal next year. The content of his show Only Human is still under wraps, but it is guaranteed to give audiences a mind-blowing experience that will take their breath away. Prepare to be astonished!
Australian superstar Jason Donovan stars in Richard O‘Brien’s legendary rock ‘n’ roll musical, The Rocky Horror Show (28 Jul – 2 Aug 25) when it time warps its way to Norwich Theatre Royal. Jason reprises his iconic role as the captivating Frank-n-Furter across the UK, following a sold-out Australian Tour in 2024. The Rocky Horror Show is the story of two squeaky clean college kids–Brad and his fiancée Janet. When, by a twist of fate, their car breaks down outside a creepy mansion whilst on their way to visit their former college professor, they meet the charismatic Dr Frank’n’Furter. It is an adventure they’ll never forget, filled with fun, frolics, frocks, and frivolity.
Joey Page (17 Feb 25) is bringing his working-class motor-mouth style to Norwich Theatre Stage Two. You might recognise Joey as tour support for Laura Smyth, Mark Simmons and Rob Beckett.
This October, One Way Out (26 Oct 24) makes a stop at Norwich Theatre Stage Two. This is a powerful new drama exploring young British Caribbeans’ experiences of the Windrush crisis. One Way Out tells the story of four friends who stand on the cusp of adulthood, with ambitious goals ahead. As they take their first steps towards independence, a world-shattering event turnstheir lives? upside down.
MC Hammersmith (4 May 25) is the world’s leading freestyle rapper to emerge from the ghetto of middle-class West London. At Norwich Theatre Stage Two, he presents an evening of improvised comedy rap based on your suggestions. You’ll leave astounded at the speed of his brain, the spontaneity of his punchlines, and the stability of his upbringing. It is jaw-dropping, hilarious, and utterly unbelievable.
