Romeo and Juliet | 14 – 18 May | Royal
The infamous tale of star-crossed lovers is back! From Northern Ballet, expect a night of passion and forbidden romance, all performed by sensational dancers, and not forgetting Northern Ballet Sinfonia, who will be performing alongside live with Prokofiev’s classic score. Northern Ballet will prove that the classic tale of drama and romance can be taken further using the art of dance!

Ockham’s Razor: Tess | 21 – 22 May | Royal
The world of Wessex returns as you’ve never seen, as Ockham’s Razor, a contemporary circus company, are here to prove you can combine classic literature and circus! An ensemble of performers weave together Hardy’s words and the extreme physicality of circus to tell this tale of power, loss and endurance. Against a backdrop of projections, the cast wield wooden planks, climb shifting walls and move through ropes and swathes of linen to evoke the vast landscapes and interior worlds of Hardy’s Wessex.
an Accident / a Life | 24 – 25 May | Royal
There’s music, dance, and film to enjoy with Brew’s newest production! Oh, as well as a car. From the mind of critically acclaimed classics such as For Now I am… and Remember When, Marc Brew joins forces with Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui for an all-new show about unravelling moments, both difficult and painful, from our lives and exploring it with and without words. An unforgettable moment for Marc was his car accident, where he went from ballet dancer to paraplegic in mere seconds. But now, he returns to the stage and explores these incidents through dance, and he wants you to join him on this unforgettable journey!

The Garage Norwich presents an evening of Dance, Theatre and Music in Turnstyle 2024. With performances from Breakin’ Crew, FleX Junior and Senior, Fusion and Forward, they will be joined on the stage by invited guests D4Dance, D4Drama, M4Music, and GCSE Dance, with two more guests to be announced soon!
Carlos Acosta’s Nutcracker in Havana | 1 – 3 Nov | Royal
Carlos Acosta’s brand-new production Nutcracker in Havana explodes onto the Norwich Theatre Royal stage for the very first time. Set to an exuberant Cuban newly-commissioned version of the magnificent Tchaikovsky score, arranged by Cuban composer Pepe Gavilondo; the timeless story is brought to life with ballet at its core, enriched with Acosta Danza’s unique style and with Cuban dance traditions beautifully woven throughout the much-loved and joyful family tale.
A Christmas Carol | 19 – 23 Nov | Royal
As the clock strikes midnight join Ebenezer Scrooge on the journey of a lifetime to discover the true meaning of Christmas. Travel with the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future through family firesides, cold winter nights and the promise of a brighter future. A festive feast for the senses, Northern Ballet, brings one of the most loved stories of all time to life.
It’s not just about shows. If you want to get moving, why not try some of Norwich Theatre’s amazing take-part opportunities? On offer is the Dance Lab (15 Apr – 1 Jul), a session for those looking to gain new dance and movement skills. Boys aged 11-16 can join our Boys Movement Company (24 Apr – 3 Jul), an in-house company that explores the wide-ranging styles of dance, choreography, and movement from around the world.
You can also try Contemporary Freedom of Movement (16 Apr—11 Jun), a session based on body movement, freedom, and creativity, and Sing, Dance, Play (10 May—21 Jun), which gets your little ones up and dancing to music.
