We love getting to know our Corporate Members that join our creative community. This is why Norwich Theatre’s Business Development & Events Coordinator Lauren Farley sat down with Norwich Theatre Member Liz Howard from the Inspiration Trust to learn more about the organisation, why they joined and what shows they are looking forward to.

Tell us about yourself and Inspiration Trust, and the work you do?

My name is Liz Howard, and I am the HR Director for Inspiration Trust. Inspiration Trust oversees 15 schools across Norfolk & Suffolk, supporting more than 9000 students to reach their full potential through an excellent education and enrichment agenda.

Why did Inspiration Trust decide to become a Norwich Theatre Member?

We were looking for a way to broaden our engagement and benefits for our staff to demonstrate how much we value their work. We equally enjoy supporting the local community.

Why do you think it is important to support the local arts community?

Post COVID-19 and the impact that it has had on families and society, we think it’s invaluable to offer opportunities to re-engage with the arts community and with organisations like Norwich Theatre. By doing so, we ensure that we can help them to remain financially viable in the longer term.

Why is it important that your staff have access to creative wellbeing?

We recognise that we have been out of practice with being sociable and, so this is really to offer our staff a benefit which means they can re-engage with the art scene and be sociable again. But, equally, with performing arts and literacy being an incredibly important area of learning, it’s equally important that that learning and benefit is emulated by our staff.

What has been your favourite show you have seen so far?

Ranulph Fiennes, mainly for his sheer determination to what one person can achieve. The importance of being part of a team and just for the motivational impact I took away from the show.

What are you looking forward to next?

We’re all incredibly excited that we will finally get to see We Will Rock You later this month after several enforced reschedules. Being able to see West End shows on our doorstep is always so exciting, and this is certainly no exception.

What would you say is the best thing about your involvement with Norwich Theatre that you would recommend to others?

With the simplicity of the offer, everything provided to us by Norwich Theatre is seamless. The booking process is effective, and it’s such an easy process for us to be involved. It has been well received by all of our staff since we joined as they now have the opportunity to access priority booking to all the shows plus all the benefits while they are in the venue.
