New Norwich company Vatic Theatre present a compelling blend of movement and music created for, and performed in, the atmospheric cloisters of Norwich Cathedral.
Norwich Under the Water is a free-ticketed event that explores the climate crisis through the medium of physical theatre. Audience members wear headsets that stream accompanying music composed by award-winning Norfolk composer Bill Vine whilst getting a 360-degree view of the performance in the cloisters.
A two-metre rise in water levels would see the river Wensum at the base of Norwich Cathedral. Norwich Under the Water reflects on this fact and explores the relevance it has on the lives of Norfolk residents, using the voices of locals and climate scientists as a source of inspiration to the physical score.
Vatic Theatre encourages you to reflect and respond to the production by bookending your visit with a viewing of the exhibition of art created by the communities across Norwich that inspired the show.
