Britain’s Got Talent winners, nostalgic comedy, children’s favourites, a Strictly Come Dancing superstar and a local show in Norwich Cathedral are all included in the shows on sale this month at Norwich Theatre. 

All shows go on sale to the public on the last Friday of the month. To book early, why not join our Friends Scheme, which gives you priority access to all the shows going on sale, plus extra discounts and more! 

The four-time Olivier Award-winning show Come From Away will be heading to Norwich Theatre Royal between 15 – 26 Oct 24. The show shares the incredible real-life story of the 7,000 air passengers from all over the world who were grounded in Canada during the wake of 9/11 and the small Newfoundland community that invited these ‘come from aways’ into their lives with open hearts. 

Calling all Drop the Dead Donkey fans! The Globelink News team are back 30 years since the trailblazing, smash-hit TV series launch. Starring the original cast members Susannah Doyle, Robert Duncan, Ingrid Lacey, Neil Pearson, Jeff Rawle, Stephen Tompkinson and Victoria Wicks. The iconic BAFTA and EMMY award-winning comedy is reimagined in this brand-new topical commentary on the cutthroat world of 24-hour news and heads to Norwich Theatre Royal between 7 – 11 May 24. 

Norwich Theatre will welcome some big comedians to its stages. This Autumn, Tom Davis (21 Oct 23) will be exploring life as an underdog at Norwich Theatre Royal. Angela Barnes (29 Sep 23) will be trying to live her best life at Norwich Theatre Playhouse. The winner of Britain’s Got Talent, Viggo Venn (13 Dec 23), will take to the Norwich Theatre Playhouse stage with an explosion of hi-vis jackets! Next year at the Royal, don’t miss Stewart Lee (24 Mar 24) and the pub landlord himself, Al Murray (17 Nov 24). 

Join the Heelers in their first live theatre show in Bluey’s Big Play (23 – 25 Jul 24) at Norwich Theatre Royal. Join Bluey and Bingo as they try to get Dad off that beanbag will all the games and cleverness at their disposal. Olaf Falafel’s Super Stupid Show (20% More Stupider) will be at Norwich Theatre Playhouse on 29 Oct 24. Expect family-friendly frivolity from one of the masters of the (stupid) art.  

Matthew Bourne’s magical dance production of Edward Scissorhands (16-20 Apr 24) comes to Norwich Theatre Royal. Based on the classic Tim Burton movie, this is a witty, bittersweet story of an incomplete boy left alone in a strange new world. Northen Ballet returns in 2024 with the ultimate tale of forbidden love in Romeo and Juliet (14 -18 May 24). At the Playhouse Boy’s Khaya (26 Oct 23) tells the story of the choreographer’s early life in Zimbabwe through a mesmerising combination of contemporary, ballet and African dance. 

As well as playing host to national and international acts, Norwich Theatre takes enormous pride in producing work that tells stories from and for the local community. Norwich Under the Water (3 – 12 Aug 2023) on the Norwich Theatre Beyond Stage is by the new Norwich company Vatic Theatre. The performance will present a compelling blend of movement and music created for, and performed in, the atmospheric cloisters of Norwich Cathedral. The show explores what we do with the fact that a two-metre rise in water levels would see the river Wensum at the base of Norwich Cathedral.

28 June – Best Friends, Friends 

30 June – General Public 

Signing up for Norwich Theatre’s Friends Scheme will give you access to priority booking for shows across its three venues, allowing you to secure your favourite seats. The entry-level into the scheme costs £25 a year and includes benefits such as priority booking, half-price first-night dramas and discounts on up to four tickets per show, plus a 10% discount off food and drink at Norwich Theatre Royal the Playhouse and Stage Two.
