Next week, panto favourite Joe Tracini and award-winning musical star Jeevan Braich will be doing the honours and switching on this year’s festive lights in Norwich on 20 Nov. The pair will be bringing their pantomime magic to the event, appearing in costume as their Cinderella roles, Buttons and Dandini.

This year’s Festive Lights Switch-On event will run from 5.30 to 7.15pm, with the lights being switched on at 7pm from the stage in front of City Hall. The event will be hosted by Norwich City Council.

Speaking about switching on the lights Joe Tracini, said: “It’s really lovely that I’ve been asked to switch on Norwich’s Festive lights this year, and I cannot wait. I only ever see the city in December, so I’m actually excited to see what it looks like with them off for a change!”

Joe will be talking all things panto with the Festive Lights host in a Christmassy Q&A. And Jeevan Briach, playing Prince Charming’s personal assistant and bestie Dandini, will be singing a surprise song as part of the evening’s entertainment and before the countdown begins!

Through the evening, there will be performances form Triple Threat Theatre, Darby, Norfolk African Choir and ARTS east. As well as interactive activities for everyone- from a snowball fight, Father Christmas and even the Norwich Grinch making an appearance! The festivities will be supported by late-night opening of the Norwich Market, and entertainment from the Hellesdon Brass Band.

We hope to see you there!

Can’t make it? Don’t worry, you can catch Joe and Jeevan in action in the pantomime Cinderella at Norwich Theatre Royal between 6 Dec – 4 Jan.
