Hailed as the foremost stand up of his generation. Star of stage and screen. Tireless supporter of charity. Runner. Political campaigner. Human. Eddie Izzard is all of these things and more. But few know that it was acting that was Eddie’s first love. This preview show offers the chance to see Eddie as he follows in Dickens’ footsteps with his live performance of the master storyteller’s much-loved classic.
This performance sees Eddie return to UEA where he last performed in 2013 as part of the University’s 50th Anniversary celebrations and where he received an Honorary Doctorate in 2003. Eddie is also no stranger to the Norwich Theatre Royal and Playhouse stages, having most recently peformed his show ‘Wunderbar’ to sold out audiences in October 2019.
Stephen Crocker, Chief Executive of Norwich Theatre, said: “After the amazing success of INTERLUDE in Chapelfield Gardens, which boasted some of the greatest names in UK comedy, I knew there was only one performer that could make the second phase of INTERLUDE at UEA really special and I am beyond thrilled that Eddie accepted our invitation and is coming to join us in the big top, completing a fantastic lineup.”
