For the Dad that loves classic films | The 39 Steps | 18 – 22 Jun | Norwich Theatre Royal

Does your Dad love a black-and white film, or is he a fan of a Hitchcock thriller?

Then try The 39 Steps, where four actors play 139 roles in this inventive and gripping comedy thriller based on Alfred Hitchcock’s classic film. Follow the incredible adventures of our handsome hero Richard Hannay, complete with stiff-upper-lip, British gung-ho and pencil moustache, as he encounters dastardly murders, double-crossing secret agents, and, of course, devastatingly beautiful women.

And just a few days after Father’s Day, you are sure to get some Brownie points!

For Dad that is a true Thespian | Player Kings | 17 – 20 Jul | Norwich Theatre Royal

If the play’s the thing for your Dad, you must treat him to the Shakespearean event of the season.

Player Kings brings together Shakespeare’s two great history plays (Henry IV, parts 1 and 2), in which a divided country with crumbling leadership and corruption is in the air. Legend Ian McKellen plays Falstaff in this exclusive tour.

For the secret Bluey fan| Bluey’s Big Play | 23 – 25 Jul | Norwich Theatre Royal

Cartoons on TV, but it is for the kids, right?! You are fooling no one, Dad! If that’s the case, take a trip to see the Heelers in their first live theatre show.

Featuring brilliantly created puppets, this is Bluey as you’ve never seen it before.

For the adventurous Dad | Sir Ranulph Fiennes: Mad, Bad and Dangerous | 1 Sep | Norwich Theatre Royal

Planning adventurous holidays, going for long walks with map and compass in hand, camping – your Dad’s middle name must be an adventure.

In that case, you must treat him to an evening in the extraordinary company of Sir Ranulph Fiennes OBE – ‘the world’s greatest living explorer’ – as he goes beyond his record-breaking achievements to explore the man behind the myth.

For the Dad that prefers the comedy classics | Hancock’s Half Hour – The Lost TV Episodes | 5 Nov | Norwich Theatre Playhouse

The old ones are the best, and we tend to agree! Transport your Dad to 1954, when Tony Hancock bursts onto the BBC with a comedy show unlike anything the British public had experienced before.

Hambledon Productions will be recreating three ‘lost’ episodes from the original television series.

For the Sports Fan | An Evening with Aggers 2025 | 4 – 5 Feb | Norwich Theatre Playhouse

They will be bowled over by true cricket legend and renowned BBC correspondent Jonathan Agnew. Aggers will regale us with stories from his illustrious career both on and off the field.

For the Dad that is out of this world | The Night Sky Show | 16 Feb | Norwich Theatre Royal

Grab the telescope and join astronomer and author Adrian West (aka VirtualAstro) for a glorious visual and thought-provoking experience for the dad who looks up and wonders.

For the comedy fan | Omid Djalili: Namaste | 29 Jun 25 | Norwich Theatre Royal

Is your Dad always up for a laugh and cracking Dad jokes wherever he goes? Then you must take him to Omid Djalili’s latest show. No government gets a green card. No tyrant avoids a takedown. No audience member leaves the theatre with an ounce of laughter left in them.

Make the night out extra special with the Lounge Experience, where our team will look after you with pre-show and interval drinks.

Planning Father’s Day 2025?

Then dust off your Dad’s flat cap  for Peaky Blinders: The Redemption of Thomas Shelby (17 – 21 Jun 25). With the iconic TV drama, Peaky Blinders full of gangsters, guns, knives and slick suits has been turned into a dance event by Rambert you won’t want to miss. Dazzling, athletic dance and stunning dramatisation with iconic eclectic Peaky soundtrack from a live on-stage band.
