Norwich Theatre recently launched a Social Media event called the Musical World Cup and after 3 weeks of fascinating competition, Les Misérables has been crowned the champion. In a fiercely contested final, The revolutionaries faced the ever-popular Wicked for the title.
In order to reach the Grand Final, Les Misérables defeated The King And I, Joseph, Hairspray, MAMMA MIA! and Hamilton.
Meanwhile, Wicked was triumphant against Aladdin, Into the Woods, Matilda The Musical, The Lion King, and SIX.
Over 4,500 votes were cast in the Grand Final, with scores combined from Twitter Polls and Instagram Stories. Although Wicked enlisted the Ozians for help, it was ultimately Les Misérables who won the tournament.
