Get creative this October with Norwich Theatre’s latest workshops and activities to go on sale. There is something for everyone, including a workshop with the English Touring Opera and sessions to keep the kids occupied during the half term.
We are excited to bring dance company Ailey 2, with its 12 young and dynamic dancers with New York flair and energy, to Norwich Theatre Royal between 6 – 7 Oct. When the company is here, join Ailey 2 Artistic Director Francesca Harper for a free Insight Talk (7 Oct) as she explains the creativity, originality and hard work that went into creating this latest production.
Join the Tavaziva company dancers for an hour workshop (26 Oct) where you will have the opportunity to learn and practice Bawren Tavaziva’s expressive and rhythmic technique in a lively and constructive environment.
Our partner English Touring Opera (ETO) will host a one-off singing workshop (16 Oct) with Martha Jones. You will be able to experience the passion of Rossini’s score with professional guidance, from vocal warm-ups to singing exercises complimenting the new production of Cinderella. The workshop price includes tickets to ETO’s production of Rossini’s Cinderella on 16 Oct.
This October half term, Norwich Theatre will have plenty of opportunities to have fun and get creative. The week starts with an Imagination Walk (24 Oct), where you and your little ones go on a magical journey into the imagination through immersive storytelling. You will use props, movement and drama games to breathe new life into classic tales.
The Drama Day (25 Oct) is perfect for thespians, actors, and players. The day will explore devising, staging and performing. Participants will warm up with games and exercises before producing a short, original piece of theatre.
Come and join Norwich Theatre’s Boys Movement Company (25 & 26 Oct), a dynamic new group for boys aged 11 – 18. A bold and diverse in-house company exploring the wide-ranging styles of dance, choreography and movement from around the world. In this practical taster session, lead by practitioner and professional dancer Ben Nash, explore a variety of dance and movement styles, giving a sample of the full-scale programme.
Baby Boppers (27 Oct) is an hour of joyful movement, dance and socialising for the care givers of babies and pre walkers. This open format dance workshop provides a chance to move, groove and socialise with parents, let off steam and express yourself through music and dance, while creatively connecting with your little one.
Sensory Stories for SEND is a creative session designed specifically for disabled and neurodiverse young people and their grown-ups. This session will guide you through play with an array of sensory materials.
