Norwich Theatre has announced it will host an election hustings ahead of the 7 May local elections, creating a space for healthy debate about local issues, encouraging engagement with local democracy, and giving local residents an opportunity to hear from candidates standing in the local government elections.
The event will take place on 27 April 2026 at 6pm in Norwich Theatre Playhouse. This event will be a panel discussion moderated by Eastern Daily Press Editor Richard Porritt, with audience members able to ask questions, facilitated by Chief Executive and Creative Director of Norwich Theatre, Stephen Crocker.
Norwich Theatre and EDP have invited representatives from all major parties to participate. The hustings will focus on the major issues shaping the future of local government in Norfolk, including local government reorganisation and the introduction of a new regional mayor, economic development and communities, and the role of arts, culture and creative industries in local growth and place-making.
