Rethink, Recycle and Reimagine! Easter fun with Norwich Theatre

During the Easter holidays, explore how creativity can be used to help the climate as a part of Norwich Theatre’s Creative Matters: Climate Stories season. Head to the theatre with all the family between11 – 14 Apr for creative fun that will make you rethink, recycle and reimagine a new world of possibilities.   

Bookable sessions start from just£5 per child, withfree adult spaces in sessions for the whole family. There will also be a range of free activities, including Norwich Theatre’s fancydress box, puppets, activity sheets and the Reimagination Station, which will contain a selection of open-ended craft materials and supplies that have all been saved from landfill. 

Sam Beal, Creative Engagement Officer Norwich Theatre, said: “We are so excited to welcome families to get creative with us! We have a great line up of activities that use unconventional materials and creativity to champion our planet.” 

Explore the art of costume design with Costume for the Future (11 Apr). Using a range of recycled clothing and unconventional materials, you will make an outfit that you can take home. In Stories for Our Planet (11 Apr), you will turn recycle paper into fresh ideas! This is a fun, creative story-building session for families focused on climate action.  

Want to get messy? Come paint with mud in Grass Roots – Painting with Mud (11 Apr). A carpet of white sheets will cover the floor, and you will use an assortment of painting materials, including local mud, coffee grounds, sticks and leaves to make prints, marks and shapes onto the fabric. 

All families are welcome with creative play for babies and toddlers, and a special sessions has been designed specifically for disabled and neurodiverse young people. Musical Explorers for SEND (13 Apr) will be accessible to non-verbal children and practitioners will guide them through a journey of imagination and sensory play in a relaxed, supportive environment. 

Your little ones won’t miss out with Reimagining Play (12 Apr). This creative sensory experience will provide parents with plenty of ideas for using low-cost, accessible items to enrich playtime. 

Say it with words in the Words of Action – Letterpress Printing session(14 Apr). You will use traditional letterpress blocks, a beautiful, one-of-a-kind print that champions the environment to display with pride. 

Café Royal is open to meet friends or relax after a workshop. The café will offer a free cookie with every children’s hot chocolate or Fruit Shoot during the week the workshops will run. Don’t forget to stamp your loyalty card to get your tenth drink free.
