With just 13 weeks until Sleeping Beauty, the Fairy’s Tale – Norwich Theatre’s Christmas pantomime – opens, the principal cast got together for a photoshoot.
Four of the five principal cast met in London yesterday for the first time for photos and videos. Director of Sleeping Beauty, The Fairy’s Tale, Chris Cuming, said: “It is great to be sat with the cast today and finally get everyone together in a room. In the sweltering heat let the Christmas hilarity begin!”
At the shoot was local treasure, YouTube star, and The Times best-selling author Joe Tracini who is playing the Good Fairy, and everybody’s favourite dame Richard Gauntlett, marking his 23rd year starring in Norwich Theatre’s pantomime.
They were joined by West End stars Millie O’Connell as Sleeping Beauty and Karl Queensborough as the Prince. Millie was one of the original Queens in SIX – The Musical when it opened in Norwich in 2018 and went on to play Anne Boleyn in the West End production. Karl recently played Alexander Hamilton in the West End production of Hamilton: An American Musical at Victoria Palace Theatre.
Beverley Callard, who will take on the role of the Evil Fairy, attended a photo shoot in Norwich a few weeks ago. Beverley is best known for pulling pints at the Rovers as Liz McDonald on Coronation Street.
Speaking about the day, Stephen Crocker, Norwich Theatre’s Chief Executive & Creative Director, said: “We have been having the most fun here in London with four of our amazing panto stars. All are trying on their costumes for the first time, some are meeting for the first time, and some are being reunited, but all are getting into character and that amazing pantomime spirit. Book your tickets now!”
