A statement from our Chief Executive Stephen Crocker following Saturday’s announcement from the Prime Minister

“Whilst the Government’s announcement of new and stricter restrictions is a disappointing setback, Norwich Theatre remains committed to ensuring that the safety of its staff, volunteers and visitors remains paramount. We will continue to do everything we can to support all efforts to end the pandemic and see a return to a society free from restrictions as soon as possible.

In response to the announcement made on 31st October, our three buildings including Playhouse Bar are now closed to the public until 2nd December. The Norwich Free Market due to take place on 15th November in the Theatre Royal car park will now not go ahead, but we hope to welcome this important community initiative back in the New Year.

Our Take Part activities scheduled for this period are currently under review and will now either be postponed or delivered digitally. All participants will be contacted on an individual basis. Please click here for more information.

We remain absolutely committed to welcoming audiences back to Theatre Royal for our A RIGHT ROYAL CHRISTMAS season opening on 16th December. Within the current guidelines and timescales outlined by the government, this is still achievable and we will be working hard to create three shows that will bring much needed joy and togetherness that I believe we all need more than ever before this Christmas.

Tickets for A RIGHT ROYAL CHRISTMAS and all shows remain on sale through our website and our telephone Box Office service which will continue to operate. In the sad event that for whatever reason these shows cannot happen, please rest assured that all customers will be contacted directly and offered an exchange, credit or refund.

At the heart of Norwich Theatre’s success over its long history has been the steadfast loyalty of its audiences and this has never been more visible than in 2020. I once again thank you all for your ongoing support as we continue to work towards our recovery.”
