Norwich Theatre has just announced its spring season of creative experiences with a wide-range of activities to explore. The new season includes new dance workshops and new theatre maker programmes for refugees creatively.

The activities do not require any previous experience. All you need is enthusiasm and the passion for being creative.”
Norwich Theatre’s Theatre Makers is all about bringing communities together and allowing their stories to be told on a platform that amplifies their voices. This season Norwich Theatre is offering three Theatre Maker programmes: Next Generation (18 Jan – 29 Mar 23) aims to encourage young creatives to take risks and become bolder, wiser and more compassionate through ensemble work; Migration Matters (10 Jan – 7 Mar 23) provides an opportunity for migrants, refugees and asylum seekers to engage creatively and connect with other communities. This project offers a platform for diverse theatrical languages to be shared and celebrated; The Motherhood Project (12 Jan – 9 Mar 23) will give you a space to feel valued, visible and heard. A new community bound by a shared understanding, encouraging mums to connect, collaborate and explore creative identities.
Dancers will be delighted by the opportunity to leap, pirouette and tap into the fabulous range of sessions to get people moving. Dance Lab for Over 50s (9 Jan – 20 Mar 23) is for those looking to gain new dance and movement skills and will explore improvisation, physical exercises and choreographic skills. Norwich Theatre’s popular Over 50’s Ballet (13 Jan – 24 Mar) sessions are back and provide a relaxed and supportive ballet session. If you love dance and musicals, then Musical Theatre Dance (13 Jan, 3 Feb and 10 Mar 23) is for you. These accessible dance sessions inspired by some of our amazing shows, including Sister Act, Kinky Boots and The Cher Show!
New this season is Creative Café, a creative community catching up over tea and cake and sharing the love of creativity. Each month a new practitioner will guide an activity, such as writing or moving, focussing on a range of topics inspired by the history of Norwich Theatre and the heritage of the region.
Families have a host of activities to get involved in, including Family Story Makers (9 Jan – 20 Mar 23), a weekly interactive session for children and their grown-ups dedicated to story time and exploring the world of children’s books. Toddlers and babies can Sing, Dance and Play (13 Jan 23 – 24 Mar 23) in a supportive space perfect for getting stuck in and explore moving with multi-sensory props. Come sing with us in our Family choir (21 Jan – 4 Mar 23) – a joyful shared experience for families to come together and create a big beautiful sound.
