Norwich Playhouse is welcoming an array of exciting shows this December to prepare audiences for the Christmas period. The line-up includes an array of hilarious and entertaining festive acts, from jazz bands to stand-up comedy.  

Opera Unwrapped for Christmas, 9 Dec 

Whether you are new to opera or are a passionate fan, Opera Unwrapped for Christmas will introduce you to opera as you have never witnessed before! This fun production is suitable for the whole family and features some of the UK’s finest singers, performing captivating renditions of Christmas music that are guaranteed to get toes tapping.  

The Easy Rollers, 11 Dec 

If you want to take a musical trip through The Jazz Age and Swing Era, then The Easy Rollers would be the perfect night out. This 7-piece jazz band produce theatrical interludes and raucous showstoppers, performing hits from the likes of Louis Armstrong to Helen Kane. You will feel as if you have stepped back in time and landed in a speakeasy bar! 

A Festive Folk Journey, 12 Dec 

This unique night of songs and stories weaves together modern arrangements with centuries of festive tradition and music. There will be four different acts taking stage: musical band Leap of Hare, the East Anglian Brass Band, the Emergency Services Choir and The Folk Club. Be prepared to witness contemporary carol performances like you’ve never heard before, laced with shanties, drinking songs and the spoken word. 

Joe Stilgoe: Christmas at the Playhouse, 14 Dec 

Having created a fresh sound for jazz in the 21st century, Joe Stilgoe is bringing his magical music to Norwich. This internationally acclaimed pianist, singer and songwriter is a favourite within the royal family, having performed several functions for the late Queen and HM King Charles. The show is packed with quick wit and on-the-spot improvisation, expect virtuoso piano and seasonal singalongs!  

 

Christmas Cheer! Norfolk’s Finest Comedy and Spoken Word, 15 Dec 

Prepare yourself for plenty of yuletide joy and seasonal jokes! Christmas Cheer is celebrating Norfolk’s finest local talents in comedy and spoken word. From hilarious comedians telling ridiculous stories with musical finales, to award-winning powerful poets. Check out our website for the full line-up! 

Heart of Winter, Norwich Theatre Stage Two, 7 – 11 Dec 

Looking for festive fun for the little ones? Norwich Theatre Stage Two is welcoming Heart of Winter, a beautiful interactive play for children. The performance explores the importance of family and friendship, following Sally on her journey to find the last snowflake. The stage is turned into a stunning winter wonderland, including a flurry of snow that children can play in! 

Don’t miss your chance to celebrate Christmas with a seasonal show! These festive performances will be running until 15 Dec at Norwich Theatre Playhouse and Heart of Winter at Norwich Theatre Stage Two.
