From fantastic music events to dance legend Carlos Acosta and treats for the family in our Family Festival, July is sure to be a busy one for us at Norwich Theatre.

80s Live | 3 Jul 

The biggest 80s party includes hits that you know and love, such as Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, Edge of Heaven, Tainted Love, Love Shack, Livin’ on a Prayer, and The Final Countdown. So bring your jukebox money and get ready to Jitterbug. 

Islands in the Stream | 5 Jul 

This thigh-slapping stage show brings together the beloved glamour and personality of Dolly, along with Kenny’s charisma and energy with hit after hit, including Jolene, Ruby, 9 to 5, Lucille, Here You Come Again, plus the smash hit Islands in the Stream. 

Ronan Keating | 6 Jul – SOLD OUT

Ride the rollercoaster with Ronan Keating! For one night only, Ronan Keating will entertain Norwich Theatre’s audience with the very best hits from his Boyzone and solo career. 

Miriam Margolyes | 7 Jul – SOLD OUT

Spend an evening in the company of one of Britain’s favourite (and naughtiest) national treasures, Miriam Margolyes, as she shares stories from her remarkable life. Reliably outrageous and always entertaining, this is a riotous evening full of life and surprises as the actress herself. Those booking in bands A-D include a paperback copy of Miriam’s autobiography This Much Is True. 

An Evening of Burlesque | 8 Jul 

The ultimate variety show, blending stylish cabaret, comedy, music, circus and burlesque to light up your senses. With world-class entertainers, prepare for an extravaganza of glitz and glamour! Expect fun, feathers and fabulous costumes. 

Fastlove – a Tribute to George Michael | 9 Jul 

Get ready for an unforgettable evening celebrating the global superstar George Michael. The show features all his hits from Wham! right through his glittering career, including, Wake Me Up, Freedom 90, Faith, Careless Whisper and many more. Why not relieve the passion and flair of George Michael himself. 

Chicago | 11 Jul – Limited  

Set amidst the razzle-dazzle decadence of the 1920s, Chicago is the story of Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer who murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her.  

Here Come the Boys | 17 Jul – Limited 

Dance superstars Graziano di Prima, Nadiya Bychkova, Pasha Kovalev and Strictly finalist Karim Zeroual will be joined by the sensational Nikita Kuzmin. This is a show-stopping dance extravaganza with a soundtrack full of dance-floor anthems, club classics and guilty pleasures.  

Good Vibrations – Classic Beach Boys | 20 July 

Mixing surfin’ guitars, stunning vocals and the English Philharmonic Orchestra, you will hear fabulous new orchestrations, bringing a completely new dimension to the Beach Boy hits. Look no further than Good Vibrations – Classic Beach Boys at Norwich Theatre Royal for a twist on the classic Beach Boys harmonies and sixties surfing sound. 

Omid Djalili: The Good Times Tour | 21 Jul 

The multi-award-winning comedian and actor Omid Djalili is now where he belongs, on a stage and bringing back the Good Times. Omid’s legendary stand-up performances are intelligent, always provocative, and entertaining. 

Rhythm of the Dance | 22 Jul 

The 21st Anniversary Rhythm of the Dance tour will be a dance and music extravaganza. The show contains a wealth of Irish talent and takes you on a trip through hundreds of years of Irish dance and music. 

On Before | 29 – 30 Jul 

Devised, directed and performed by Carlos Acosta, On Before is a powerful homage to Acosta’s late mother and his most personal work yet. See the show before Norwich Theatre takes the show on tour across Europe this summer. 

The Darlings Return… Heather Millan School of Dance | 31 Jul 

The Heather Millan School of Dance and Performing Arts presents a dazzling array of dance, music and song. Follow the performers on an enchanting journey as we bring the adventures of Neverland to life.

Priscilla, Queen of the Desert | 5 – 10 Jul 

Get ready for the ride of your life as the ultimate party, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert takes a pit stop in Norwich for one week only! 

Based on the smash-hit movie, the feel-good international hit sensation Priscilla is the heart-warming, uplifting adventure of three friends who hop aboard a battered old bus searching for love and friendship and find more than they could have ever dreamed of. 

The Floyd Effect: Dark Side of Reason | 16 Jul – SOLD OUT

A musical tribute to the UK’s most famous prog-rock band will see you enjoy Pink Floyd as it was meant to be experienced. The show highlights Pink Floyd’s multi-platinum selling album A Momentary Lapse of Reason and will feature a complete, unbroken performance of the iconic Dark Side of the Moon and tracks from seminal albums. 

TURNSTYLE 2022 | 21 Jul 

An evening of dance performed by The Garage’s participation dance companies: Pulse, FleX, D4Dance, Connect and Breakin Crew. With guest performances including The Garage’s Over 50s Contemporary Class and ‘Passion Productions’. 

The Bubble Show | 26 Jul 

Join Mr Bubbles with his extraordinary soap bubbles in all shapes and sizes! The Bubble Show is a unique blend of magic, storytelling, and bubble art! Enjoy bouncy bubbles, bubbles inside bubbles, smoke bubbles, square bubbles, giant bubbles, and even fire bubbles! 

Comedy Club 4 Kids | 28 Jul 

Come see the best stand-ups, sketch acts and cabaret stars from the international circuit to do their thing for an audience of children (aged 6+) and their families… but without the rude bits! It’s just like a normal comedy club, but it’s on in the day, kids are allowed in, and thus there is a higher than usual chance of the entire audience claiming to be called Bob. 

The Very Hungry Caterpillar | 29 – 31 Jul 

Dive into Eric Carle’s bright and colourful world as his beloved stories are transformed from page to stage using a menagerie of 75 lovable puppets and charming music. Featuring your favourite titles: Brown Bear, Brown Bear, 10 Little Rubber Ducks, The Very Lonely Firefly and of course, the star of the show, The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Extra Events 

Family Festival | 26 – 31 Jul 

Norwich Theatre’s three venues open their doors to families of all shapes and sizes. It will be a creative adventure like no other, featuring a host of activities and shows, including free options. 

Across the week, you will be able to learn to beatbox with a professional beatboxer, join the Silly Stories Club or sing in our family choir. Come see storytime favourite The Very Hungry Caterpillar at the Norwich Theatre Playhouse or even have a picnic on the Norwich Theatre Royal stage at our Poetry Picnic. 

Open Day | 24 Jul (Norwich Theatre Royal and Stage Two) 

Norwich Theatre Royal and Stage Two are opening their doors for our annual open day! 

Discover our buildings in all their glory, and take a sneak peek behind the scenes of the largest theatre in the region. We will be holding backstage tours, delving into our archive of over 100 years of theatre history, and giving you the chance to get up close with some of our dazzling panto costumes!

Pride at Norwich Theatre | 30 Jul 

To celebrate Norwich Pride, Norwich Theatre will be inviting guests to join us for a day of pride activities. We will be hosting a Drag Brunch in our restaurant Prelude, where we will be joined by The Squirrels (as featured on the X Factor.) Brunch will be taking place between 10.30 – 12. 

Guests can enjoy the parade from our balconies as it travels past. A DJ will also be on hand throughout the day to get you in the carnival mood.
