Be More Human: An evening in conversation with Sir Norman Lamb

Please join us for a special evening marking the launch of Sir Norman Lamb’s new book, Be More Human: Why Mental Health Care is Broken and What We Can Do to Fix It.

Sir Norman will share the inspiration and insights behind Be More Human in conversation with Stephen Crocker, Chief Executive and Creative Director of Norwich Theatre.

Joining them will be Alexis Quinn and Steven Downes, whose personal experiences are featured in the book, sharing their perspectives on navigating the mental health system and the importance of placing relationships, dignity and humanity at the centre of mental health care.

The discussion will also include contributions via live link from internationally recognised mental health practitioners Roberto Mezzina from Italy and Birgit Valla from Norway, who will bring examples of innovative approaches to mental health support from around the world.

Rather than a traditional book launch, expect a lively, thoughtful and very human conversation exploring what it means to put our shared humanity back at the heart of mental health care and wellbeing. Through personal stories, lived experience and fresh thinking, the evening will offer both challenge and hope, with plenty of room for the conversation to unfold.
