Join our community of Citizen Theatre Makers this summer to create a bold new production in partnership with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
The Citizen Theatre Makers: Teachers Group offers a unique opportunity for teachers to engage in a creative, collaborative theatre-making project designed to nurture your own creativity and wellbeing. Delivered in partnership with the Royal Shakespeare Company, this project invites teachers from all key stages and subjects to explore Shakespeare’s Hamlet through devising, writing and performance.
Overview of the project:
- 5 days of theatre making in the summer holidays (11-15 Aug)
- Commitment to the full 5 days is required
- No performance experience is necessary, the project is designed to be accessible to all teachers
- The focus of the week is for teachers to connect with their own creativity, and develop skills, confidence and connections for themselves
- The week will involve practical theatre-making techniques, writing, devising and performing as well as space to reconnect with your own creativity
- The outcome will be part of Norwich Theatre’s upcoming Community Co-production this autumn (additional rehearsal dates in September outside of school times)
This project is part of RSC Shakespeare Nation. As part of an ensemble of community participants, you’ll be inspired by Hamlet, one of Shakespeare’s most renowned plays, and bring the stories of our city to life through a new piece of theatre.
This project is free to access for any teacher, in partnership with the Royal Shakespeare Company, supported by Esmee Fairbairn and Arts Council England
