Let People Like You
29 Aug 19:30
A feel-good spoken word show about love, life, and letting yourself be held by the universe.
The show begins with an open mic on the theme of joy.
Edalia Day’s new solo show blends heart-hugging poetry, comedy songs, and beautiful close-harmony singing. It’s a celebration of joy, self-acceptance, and the power of community, wrapped in dazzling spoken word and live music.
Inspired by Edalia’s journey coming out as a trans woman while living in Paris in 2010 and the poems Let People Not Like You (2018) and Let People Like You (2023), this show explores what it means to open yourself to finding joy. Expect songs about the perils of navigating love, poems about finding connection and stories about beautiful, impossible moments when the most magical coincidences bring people together.
Contact Edalia at transdrogynous@gmail.com to request a slot for the open mic.
