Norwich Theatre’s Open Day is back!
Norwich Theatre is delighted to announce its annual Open Day, which returns on 26 July, offering the ultimate trip out for any theatre fan. This completely FREE event offers a unique chance to go behind the scenes and discover how the magic of theatre is brought to life.
Access-all-areas tour!
Start your Open Day adventure with a guided, access-all-areas tour of Norwich Theatre Royal and Stage Two. You’ll go backstage, explore beneath the stage, peek into dressing rooms, and even stand on the stage itself! See fly rail demonstrations, try your hand at lighting the stage, or check out the prompt desk.
Guided tours will take place from the foyer throughout the day and do not require booking. There are also self-guided routes available.
Audio-Described, BSL, Level-Access and Quiet Tours can be booked below:

Don’t miss the Tech Talks, where our expert technicians will delve into all backstage disciplines and offer opportunities to ask all your burning questions about career prospects, special effects, and life working in theatre. These free sessions are for anyone wanting to understand what happens behind the bright lights and are bookable in advance below:

Family Activity Trail
Follow the complete the family activities dotted around the building for a chance to win a prize!
Find the Trail activities by spotting one of six Panto pictures. Stamp your card when you find each one for a chance to win free Panto tickets for a family of 4.
Norwich Theatre Archives
During the day, you will have the opportunity to explore Norwich Theatre’s archive and learn from our volunteer archivist about the theatre’s rich history or discover how your support helps fund some amazing work in the community.

You will have the opportunity to get your face painted, build a mini stage set and immerse yourself in Peter Pan’s Neverland… are you team pirate or team fairy? If you feel like unleashing your inner diva, you can try on some of our fabulous costumes from past pantos for the ultimate Instagram moment. And don’t forget to tick this all off your family activity trail for your chance to win some fantastic prizes!
