Teachers Network CPD - Exploring Set Design with your students
This event is in the past
In this practical session we will explore approaches to set design, from methods to illustrate initial ideas to creating a model box, as well as a range of simple model-making techniques to bring designs to life.
Using a range of easily accessible materials, this session will equip teachers with a simple, practical way to teach students about the principles of scenic design including tone, mood, scale and form. The stage in a shoebox can be used as a tool to create designs for set texts or devised work for GCSE and A-level students, giving an insight into the page-to-stage design process and hands-on experience of designing for the stage.
You will learn the process of creating the model box and suggestions on creating designs for a range of texts.
If you can, please bring a shoebox (preferably with a removable lid) all other materials will be provided.
Booking will close Monday 23 June – places are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.
