Serving fresh, seasonal ingredients locally sourced whenever possible. Prelude is the perfect modern setting for you to enjoy a meal before the performance.
You can book via the website here or email prelude@norwichtheatre.org. Alternatively you can leave a message on our restaurant booking line by calling 01603 598577. We would ask for you to provide details of your name, date of booking, number of guests and preferred time and a member of our team will come back to you regarding your reservation.’ The restaurant booking line is not monitored. We endeavour to respond to all enquiries within 24 hours.

Prelude is open before each show and we look forward to welcoming both theatregoers and those looking to enjoy a relaxing meal at Norwich Theatre.

If you have a reservation in the restaurant and are running late on the night, don’t worry! As a reservation only restaurant the table will be yours for the evening.’ If you arrive within 30 minutes of your table reservation, please be advised there may be a delay on your order being taken. If you arrive 30 minutes after your allocated reservation we cannot guarantee we will be able to fully accommodate your dining requirements (*show & time dependent) although we will do our best to ensure you don’t miss the start of the show!’
Café Royal
We are delighted to introduce our brand-new addition to the Norwich Theatre family. Our Café Royal team will be thrilled to welcome you in and serve you barista-made coffee and, of course, a scone and tea.
Open 6 days a week, our café is the perfect spot to relax with friends, take a break from the city, or grab a bite before work.

Café Royal has indoor and outdoor (under cover) seating so we are always prepared for the English weather.
Based in the Theatre Royal building, located in the stalls bar, you can pop in for a coffee, meet friends and even pick which shows you want to come to!
As part of the Norwich Theatre family, our café is an inclusive space, open to all. With local produce and Direct Trade coffee, we are ethical, environmentally conscious and yummy.
Playhouse Bar
A fantastic, friendly space serving real ales from local breweries, German lagers on tap, delicious wines, exotic tea and coffee and splendid small snacks.

The Playroom
An intimate, quieter place away from the busy hustle and bustle of the bar. Great for catching up with friends pre-theatre show, getting on with some work with free WIFI or just relaxing.
Bars
You’ll receive a warm welcome in either of the Theatre Royal’s two bars which service the circle and the stalls.
The circle bar is a great place to meet pre-show for a drink or a bite to eat.
The stalls bar opens an hour before the show ideal for a quick drink and chat before the performance begins.
