The Woman in Black | Norwich Theatre Royal | 15 – 20 Jan 24 

Following its legendary run at London’s West End, Susan Hill’s iconic ghost story is returning to Norwich. Follow the story of Arthur, a man obsessed with a curse that he believes plagues his family, cast by a Woman in Black. Bring along your bravest friends and family members to this hair-raising show, delivering atmosphere, illusion, and horror! 

Macbeth | Norwich Theatre Playhouse | 29 Jan – 1 Feb 24 

It’s the murky Dark Ages and sorcery, ghostly apparitions and sword fights are rife. Macbeth is told by three sisters that he is to be King of Scotland, beginning an unfortunate series of events, from murder to destruction, to cling to the tainted crown. This is an unmissable Shakespeare classic, where love, politics and witchcraft collide. 

And Then There Were None | Norwich Theatre Royal | 30 Jan – 3 Feb 24 

Based upon the bestselling crime novel of all time by Agatha Christie, this eerie production will keep you on the edge of your seat. Ten strangers are lured to a solitary mansion off the coast of Devon. When a storm cuts them off from the mainland, the true reason for their presence on the island becomes horribly clear.  

A Family Business | Norwich Theatre Playhouse | 12 Feb 24 

Society rarely discusses nuclear weapons, and many feel powerless in the discussion of their influence. However, the truth is we all have the power to make a difference. A Family Business is a piece of theatre that delves into the stories of diplomats, activists, and a quest to change the world. If these weapons could wipe out our future, why aren’t we talking about them today? 

RSC First Encounters with Shakespeare: Romeo & Juliet | Norwich Theatre Playhouse | 16 – 17 Feb 24 

A gate-crashed party and forbidden love. When Romeo meets Juliet, their worlds collide, and things can never be the same again. They hatch a clever plan to be together, but fate has other ideas. This 90-minute production by the Royal Shakespeare Company uses cleverly edited language and is a perfect introduction for young people aged 7-13 and their families.  

The Land of Lost Content | Norwich Theatre Stage Two | 16 Mar 24 

Henry and Jake grew up with their friends in a quiet country town where they stumbled through adolescence looking for something to do. Then Henry moved away. Now he’s back but there’s no enjoying a welcome-home-pint without facing up to the memories he left behind. This compassionate, funny and deeply moving drama explores life for youth in a small town. 

Casting the Runes | Norwich Theatre Stage Two | 13 Apr 24 

Don’t come alone to this haunting retelling of M.R James’ classic ghost story. Featuring remarkable puppetry and a spine-chilling soundtrack, the scholar and sceptic, Edward Dunning, meets the mysterious Mr. Karswell. Edward’s life soon becomes a living nightmare.  

The Boy at the Back of the Class | Norwich Theatre Royal | 23 – 27 Apr 24  

A new boy has joined class, but he never smiles or talks, and his classmates don’t understand why he isn’t like the other nine year olds in class. They learn he has fled a war-torn country, so they think of the ‘Greatest Idea in the World’ – to reunite him with his family! This unexpected and funny adventure is told from children’s perspectives, following stories of friendship and kindness.  

The Syndicate | Norwich Theatre Royal | 20 Apr – 4 May 24 

Based upon the hit BBC TV show, The Syndicate follows the lives of five supermarket employees who win a share of an £18million jackpot. Will all their dreams come true, or will it make nightmares a reality? This hilarious yet touching production will make you laugh and cry – don’t miss this jackpot of a show!  

Drop the Dead Donkey: The Reawakening | Norwich Theatre Royal | 7 – 11 May 24 

Bursting with razor-sharp wit and classic British humour, this show is a topical commentary on the cutthroat world of 24 hours news. Starring the original cast members, it exposes the underside of the broadcasting industry in all its riotous glory. Come and experience this hilarious revival of an all-time comedy classic! 

The 39 Steps | Norwich Theatre Royal | 18 – 22 Jun 24 

This fast-paced Alfred Hitchcock spy thriller has been brilliantly recreated for stage. Follow the adventures of hero Richard Hannay, complete with stiff-upper-lip and pencil moustache as he encounters murders, secret agents, and, of course, devastatingly beautiful women. This wonderfully inventive and gripping comedy thriller features four fearless actors, playing 139 roles in 100 minutes of fast-paced fun and thrilling action.
