5, 6, 7, 8... Reasons to see Here and Now

If you are looking for a reason to head to the theatre right now, “Here & Now”—the official Steps musical—is the high-energy, neon-soaked escape you didn’t know you needed. If you are looking for a reason to head to the theatre right now, “Here & Now”—the official Steps musical—is the high-energy, neon-soaked escape you didn’t know you needed. Set in the aisles of the “Better Best Bargains” seaside supermarket, it turns the mundane chore of grocery shopping into a glitter-filled “Summer of Love.”

Say you’ll be mine – The nostalgia factor

You will be transported to an era of butterfly clips, inflatable chairs and trying to learn the latest dance craze (5,6,7,8) in your bedroom. It is like stepping into a Smash Hits Magazine.

One for Sorrow, Two for a massive party

Just like a Steps gig, there is no such thing as low energy. From the moment the lights go down, this show is a non-stop barrage of glitter, campy set designs, costume changes galore and full-on Steps songs that will have you singing all the way home.

Deeper Shade of Blue (And Every Other Colour)

This is quite possibly the brightest show on tour. Between the neon-blue aisles and the fluorescent pink employee tabards, the production is a visual sugar rush. If your mood is not lifted by this I am not sure what will!

Say You’ll Be Mine  – A Drag Race Dream

The character of Jem is played by RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star River Medway, and they bring a major dose of queer joy with their storyline, proving that love can be found even while browsing the frozen peas.

Better Best Forgotten – Supermarket Sweep Vibe

Forget your local Tesco. The show is set in Better Best Bargains and is a tribute to the 90s neon supermarkets reminiscent of Dale Winton’s Supermarket Sweep. Head to the checkouts for a showstopper.

Love’s Got a Hold on My Heart

While the show is undeniably camp, it has a surprising amount of heart. The story follows Caz and her friends Vel, Neeta, and Robbie as they navigate Midlife crises and marriage bombshells, the quest for happy-ever-afters, and hidden crushes in the aisles.

Summer of Love – Dancing with the trolleys

Forget standard dance routines. This show features Trolleyography. The cast performs high-energy numbers while manoeuvring shopping trolleys with precision that would make a Formula 1 driver jealous.

It’s the way you make me feel – The Megamix

During the megamix its your turn to ramp up the party and dance along (we know you have been practising).
