Norwich Theatre is on the lookout for the next generation of creative leaders with its free Young Cultural Leaders programme following last year’s success.

The programme is designed to give young people between 18 and 30 the chance to gain practical skills and learn how to help shape and define leadership. The free programme will be based on ten monthly sessions, including workshops, events, guest speakers, and one-to-one coaching.

Those enrolling in the Young Cultural Leaders course can actively contribute to a more varied, inclusive, and sustainable society by establishing important connections and working together to lead change in the creative industry and beyond.

Speaking about last year’s Young Cultural Leader programme, Oliver Jones said: “The programme really has given me the confidence to reach for my creative goals, safe in the knowledge that I can achieve them. Without it, I think I would still be stuck without the confidence to reach for what I want.”

Participants will develop a toolbox of leadership skills, an understanding of creative sector leadership, and the importance of inclusive leadership practices. Hayley Murrow, Creative Learning Partnerships Manager at Norwich Theatre, said: “The programme provides a space for participants to explore what creative leadership means to them individually.”

Applications are now open until Fri 29 Sep. Attitude, personality and ambition are more important for the Young Cultural Leaders programme than qualifications or experience. “Successful applicants will be committed to deepening their knowledge of approaches to cultural leadership and taking action for positive social change,” added Hayley

To apply, please send a cover letter outlining why you are interested in applying for the programme to learning@norwichtheatre.org. For more information, head here.
