Let’s face it: the world is a lot right now. Thankfully, Norwich Theatre has your back with a guaranteed escape and unadulterated joy. Whether you want to laugh through your generational anxiety, get life advice from a wine-swilling sitcom icon, or watch a lovable giant fire off freshly cooked observations, we’ve got your comedy fix sorted.

Tom Davis: Spudgun | 11 – 12 Sep | Norwich Theatre Royal

The lovable giant Tom Davis is back on the road and firing out freshly cooked observations on life’s hottest topics, bringing massive energy and big-time laughs from a comic at the top of his game.

Spotted on: You likely know Tom from Murder in Successville and the BBC One smash-hit comedy King Gary. He also has his own special, Underdog, available to watch on Sky and NOW TV.

Catherine Bohart: Borrowing Trouble | 14 Oct | Norwich Theatre Playhouse

Catherine Bohart turns overthinking into an art form. The Edinburgh Comedy Awards nominee is back with a brand-new show centred around her ultimate birthright, an all-encompassing, generational worry. Catherine knows exactly how to spin deep neuroses into immaculate, side-splitting punchlines.

Spotted on: You may have seen Catherine on Live at the Apollo, QI, The Last Leg, A League of Their Own, Mock the Week, The Mash Report, The News Quiz, and Last One Laughing Ireland.

Celya AB: We must Stop Meeting Like This | 30 Oct | Norwich Theatre Playhouse

Celya AB takes over the stage to ask the big questions. Have you ever forensically overthought your life choices, or wondered if your entire adult existence was somehow connected to a passing comment your Spanish teacher made when you were fifteen? She is bringing her hilariously sharp, relatable intellect to anyone who thinks just a little too much about everything.

Spotted on: Did you catch her on Live At The Apollo, the smash-hit Off Menu podcast, and Comedy Central Live?

Larry Dean: Hellbent | 4 Nov | Norwich Theatre Playhouse

Larry Dean is freshly married and self-described as “emotionally feral,” the gallus Glaswegian goon returns with a brilliant hour about fiercely refusing to grow up.

Spotted on: Larry has been featured on SNL, Live at the Apollo, QI, and The Royal Variety Performance.

Fatiha El-Ghorri: Cockney Stacking Doll | 2 Dec | Norwich Theatre Playhouse

Fatiha’s ironed her swaggest hijab, and she’s ready to hit the road to serve up her one-of-a-kind and award-winning stand-up. Expect a lot of laughs, stereotype-smashing, and to fall side-splittingly in love with this knock-out comic who is destined for stardom.

Spotted on: You must have seen her on Taskmaster and Mr Bigstuff.  But she has also been Live At The Apollo, QI, The Last Leg, The Jonathan Ross Show, Cats Does Countdown and Donkey.

Aurie Styla: Maverick | 4 Feb | Norwich Theatre Playhouse

Although everything on the surface seems nice and “cushty,” something keeps throwing off his scales of wins and fails. The show hilariously explores his terrible work-life balance, chaotic family dynamics, health, and relationships.

Spotted on: Aurie has appeared on ‘Richard Osman’s House Of Games’ (BBC), ‘Comedy Central Live’, ‘Jonathan Ross’ Comedy Club’ (ITV), ‘Don’t Hate The Playaz’ (ITV), multiple seasons of ‘The Stand-Up Sketch Show’ (ITV2), and many more shows. He’s the host of his very popular BBC Radio 4 show ‘Tech Talk’, which is returning for a second series.

Ahir Shah: Golden | 21 Feb | Norwich Theatre Stage Two

Ahir Shah discusses love, money, family, responsibility, fear, forever and frogs. His last show, Ends, won the Edinburgh Comedy Award, toured to international acclaim and is streaming on Netflix.

Amy Gledhill: Thanks For Having Me | 18 Mar | Norwich Theatre Playhouse

Amy Gledhill has appeared on the biggest comedy shows on TV, won the most prestigious award in live comedy, and starred in a Netflix blockbuster. So why can’t she nail just one first date, social interaction or trip to the spa? (She is now banned.)

Spotted on: Amy is a Taskmaster alumnus, Last One Laughing’s cruellest red card, and co-host of smash-hit podcasts Single Ladies In Your Area and Northern News.

Dylan Moran: Looking for Trouble | 25 Apr | Norwich Theatre Royal

Dylan Moran is causing trouble. Find out how your life could all have been different. Find out how to reclaim your life by becoming a lethal kickboxing and chess champion. Pioneer new trends in global lovemaking, join the elite band of trillionaire poets/pastry chefs/mountaineers.

Spotted on: You know him best as the wine-swilling star and creator of the iconic sitcom Black Books.

Lucy Beaumont: Bad at Quiz Shows, Good with Weirdos | 16 May | Norwich Theatre Royal

Lucy Beaumont has had quite the year. She managed to lose a contestant £79,000 on The Wheel, completely forgot to revise for Mastermind, and generally confirmed to the nation that she is spectacularly terrible at quiz shows. Luckily, she’s sticking to what she does best and returning to the road with an evening packed with beautifully surreal storytelling.

Spotted on: You may have caught Lucy on Celebrity Traitors, The Wheel, Celebrity Mastermind, Taskmaster, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, and Have I Got News For You.
