The fabulous Stealia Jobs is back to bring non-stop tomfoolery, big show tunes, and gorgeous looks to the Norwich Theatre Royal Pride with a Pride Drag Brunch and a free afternoon of fun in the Long Bar on 25 Jul. Ahead of the big day, we sat down with the Stealia to find out exactly what she has in store for you!
Tell us a little bit about yourself
My name is Stealia Jobs, because like all good immigrants, it’s what I do best! I am a Polish-born drag queen from Norwich. I’ve been doing drag for over 6 years now. I’ve performed across the UK and Europe, most notably at Mighty Hoopla and DragConUK. I’m a singer and actor, and I love making a fool of myself! I am so excited to bring the musicals brunch back for another year!
Stealia, you are returning to the drag brunch at Norwich Theatre Royal. What keeps you coming back?
The vibes! The excitement! The people! It’s such a great place to be in; I love the Theatre Royal – and in my delusional mind, it’s one step closer to being on your stage.
Go on, tease us. What should we expect at the Pride brunch?
You can expect laughs, big show tunes, great looks and delicious food (not cooked by myself, obviously). I’m excited to bring The Duke with me this year; they’re such a superstar! It’ll be non-stop tomfoolery!
You are performing with the duke. Will there be any surprises?
We’ve got some duets planned and some obscure musical tunes, so you might discover a new show you love!
There are performers in the long bar afterwards. What do you have planned for people?
We’ve got a gorgeous show planned, some new performers and some seasoned drag performers! A real mix and great fun for all the family!
How do you create your drag persona? What inspires you?
I’m truly just Patti Lupone trapped in the body of a crossdresser. I’m so inspired by musical theatre and the performing arts, and I hope to be on the West End one day!
How long does it take you to get ‘Stealia-ready’?
It takes about an hour for the face and an extra 15-20 minutes for the rest!
What is your favourite thing about the queer community in Norwich?
I love the support and love people give each other. Norwich is such a welcoming and beautiful city. I’ve recently had a rough time, and the community really stood up and supported me every step of the way. I’m so grateful to be surrounded by such a wonderful community.

If your drag style were a cocktail, what would it be?
Espresso martini – common, but fancy. Definitely keeps you awake!
If you had to be a tribute act, who would it be?
It would definitely be Cher, and if I could dance, I’d love to do a Gaga tribute.
Favourite ever musical number?
Cabaret!
What is your go-to brunch order?
Eggs Benedict, definitely, although I’m yet to work out whether I enjoy hollandaise sauce or just grin and bear it every time.
