Norwich Theatre’s annual Open Day is back on 26 July, and you are all invited! The day is completely free and gives you access to all the behind-the-scenes magic at Norwich Theatre.
Have you ever wanted to stand on the main stage, explore the dressing rooms of the stars, or see what’s hiding underneath the theatre? Now’s your chance! Join an Access All Areas guided tour around the Theatre Royal and into Stage Two, or take it at your own pace and walk around unguided.
Audio-described, BSL-interpreted, and level-access tours will be running throughout the day, ensuring everyone can enjoy a guided tour experience. For those who prefer a calmer environment, a Quiet Tour will be held at 9.30am & 9.40am. All accessible tours are bookable online.
Come along to our Tech Talks and meet members of Norwich Theatre’s Technical Department and find out more about the backstage disciplines. Ask them anything about special effects, theatrical careers, and the secrets behind the spotlights. These sessions are free and bookable in advance. There will be a BSL-interpreted Tech Talk at 11am.
If that’s not enough, Norwich Theatre is turning the fun up to eleven. You can get your face painted, build a mini stage set, follow our activity trail, explore our historical archives and immerse yourself in Peter Pan’s Neverland… are you team pirate or team fairy?
And for the ultimate Instagram moment, you can try on actual, fabulous costumes from our past pantomimes.
