Summer is officially here, but it’s never too early to plan your next creative adventure. Norwich Theatre has revealed its autumn Take Part programme, bursting with opportunities to connect with others, boost your wellbeing, and try something new. Whether you want to dance, sing, stitch, or share your stories, there is a chance for everyone to get creative.

Build strength and mobility whilst developing your technique, creativity and musicality with Dance Lab (2 Sep – 13 Nov). Sessions are designed to enhance wellbeing through an exploration of improvisation, physical exercises and choreographic skills. No previous dance experience is required.

A practitioner is stood in the middle of a room with an acoustic guitar, singing. Around her are older individuals sat on chairs in a circle, they are looking at sheet music and singing along.

Get crafty with Exchange: Figurative Threads (19 Sep – 12 Dec) explores the human figure through fabric and embroidery. These sessions can offer you space, guidance, and support to explore the seed of an idea.

Theatre Cares – A Life in Music (3 Sep – 26 Nov) brings together individuals with mild to moderate dementia and their partners or carers for fun and engaging music workshops. Participants will explore music in all its forms, from singing and songwriting to getting hands-on with drums, chimes, and stringed and small percussion instruments

Share your stories and memories of the Playhouse and help create a new exhibition celebrating the incredible theatre at the Norwich Playhouse Archives drop-in (1 Aug). This session is free, and no booking is required. Or why not join project archivist Giorgia Bottinelli to explore items from the Norwich Playhouse Archives in the workshop (14 Aug)? This free, bookable session will include conversation and gentle creative activities, suitable for everyone.

This Stage: A Life in Motion is a unique opportunity to work towards a new 10-minute theatre piece to be performed at a Norwich Theatre launch event. This 8-week project will look specifically at ageing creatively, inviting you to empower yourself as a creative, challenge ageism, all while learning new skills in a safe environment.

Come along to Change my Story: Mrs Phelps’ Library (12 Aug) and join a Royal Shakespeare Company practitioner at the Millennium Library Children’s space for a free storytelling workshop inspired by Matilda’s library in Matilda the Musical.

Your little ones will also be able to enjoy energetic musical sessions with Sing, Dance, Play (25 Sep – 4 Dec). There will be a variety of instruments, as well as unconventional multi-sensory props, for exploring movement, dance, and play.
