Norwich Theatre invites you to step into the heart of theatrical magic and explore the inner workings of Norwich Theatre Royal with its exclusive backstage tours. Discover the secrets behind the stunning productions that grace the stage, from the Royal Shakespeare Company to Matthew Bourne, and experience the thrill of a working theatre firsthand.
You will explore backstage with one of Norwich Theatre’s knowledgeable guides, who will get you up close and personal with the sets and costumes of national touring productions, giving you a glimpse into the world of theatre.
Tours will begin near the box office counter in the foyer before heading backstage, visiting such areas as the stage door, the green room, the wardrobe, and the scene dock, on your way to the stage!
James MacDonald, Head of Visitors Services at Norwich Theatre, said: “This is a really exciting opportunity to see the magic behind the scenes and see how it all happens. You’ll get to walk in the footsteps of actors, technicians, and creatives, and see the theatre from a completely different perspective. It’s a unique and immersive experience that’s perfect for theatre lovers of all ages.”

The first backstage tours start on 1 May and run throughout the two-week run of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat which is on a Norwich Theatre Royal between 30 Apr – 10 May.
