Hold on to your glass slippers because the King of Comic Chaos, Joe Tracini, is bringing the panto magic and writing Norwich Theatre’s pantomime Cinderella.
Following the resounding writing success of his previous Norwich Theatre pantomime, Sleeping Beauty and The Fairy’s Tale, Joe will once again infuse the traditional pantomime format with his signature blend of contemporary humour and heartfelt storytelling. Audiences can expect a production brimming with laughter, enchanting characters, and the festive spirit that Norwich Theatre pantomimes are renowned for.
Not only will Joe Tracini bring his creative flair and comedic timing to the script, but he will also be at the centre of the action as the loveable and hilarious Buttons.
Speaking about writing Cinderella, Joe Tracini said: “This pantomime is timeless because it’s about everything that makes life meaningful: love, kindness, awful relatives, and shoes. I couldn’t be more honoured that I’ve been asked to write it.
“I really hope you can come and help Cinderella find her happy ending. I promise it’s the story, you know, and hopefully, you’ll leave remembering that you’re enough as you are as well.”

Wendy Ellis, Norwich Theatre Creative Programs & Audiences Director and lead producer of the pantomime, said: “We couldn’t think of anyone better to write Cinderella than panto’s biggest fan. Joe will be bringing his signature brand of hilarious mayhem to the script so audiences better prepare for belly laughs, side-splitting antics and a panto experience they just won’t want to miss.”
You will have a ball with this magical tale of love and hope. Cinderella dreams of life outside of the confines of her home, where she cleans, cooks and looks after her stepsisters.
Like every good friend, her best pal Buttons keeps her spirits up as she finds out that her sisters are invited to the prince’s ball, but poor Cinders isn’t. Will Cinderella ever meet Prince Charming? Will her fairy Godmother make her dreams come true? Will there be some baddies to boo and hiss at? Of course! It’s panto.
Cinderella opens at Norwich Theatre Royal on 6 Dec 25 and runs over Christmas and New Year until 4 Jan 26.
Cinderella has a range of accessible performances, including captioned, audio described, BSL interpreted, relaxed, sensory adapted, and an over-15s performance.
