Going on sale this month at Norwich Theatre, enjoy a dark thriller, a mega lineup of comedians, shows for the little ones, and an evening with Britain’s first astronaut. So pick your shows and grab your friends; this is going to be out of this world.
For fans of dark psychological thrillers, Strangers On A Train (19 – 23 Jan 27) at Norwich Theatre Royal is a must-see classic that will keep you guessing. Based on the novel by Patricia Highsmith and inspired by Hitchcock’s iconic film about obsession, manipulation and the devastating consequences of a chance encounter.
Comedy-wise, you are spoilt for choice this month. At Norwich Theatre Royal, BAFTA-winning comedian Adam Kay celebrates a decade of his global smash This Is Going to Hurt. Coming to Norwich Theatre Stage Two, there is Fresh TOAST (8 Nov 26), showcasing some of the best poets you’ve never heard of; In Development: Lovedale (24 Feb 27), a new piece of work that tells the story of Lara, who flees India for rural Wales after her father’s brutal murder. My English Persian Kitchen (6 Mar 27) is one woman’s memories of the tastes and aromas of her mother’s kitchen with live cooking on stage.
Astronaut Helen Sharman CMG OBE (13 Feb 27) is coming to Norwich Theatre Royal during February’s Norwich Science Festival. She will be talking about what it’s really like to travel beyond Earth. Other shows to look out for during the Norwich Science Festival include The Brain Bending Science Illusion Show (18 Feb 27), a show full of brain-bending science illusions at Norwich Theatre Playhouse. And at Stage Two, catch Tiny Planet (15 – 16 Feb 27) for a show featuring breathtaking puppetry, live folk songs, and stunning live cameras to uncover how the smallest things hold the biggest stories.
For your little ones, join the lovable dragon Zog, fearless Princess Pearl and trusty Sir Gadabout in Zog and The Flying Doctors (24 – 25 Jul 27) at Norwich Theatre Royal. Or why not take them to Olaf Falafel (17 Feb 27) at Norwich Theatre Playhouse and see a comedy show comedians take their kids to. Children’s writer and illustrator Nick Sharratt 13 Apr 27 is hosting a drawalong at Norwich Theatre Playhouse. Come in your pyjamas to Norwich Theatre Stage Two for Dance in the Dark ( 18 Feb 27) for a slumber party in a giant sleepover den to discover the magic of the dark. Pinocchio! (1 – 2 Jun 27) at Norwich Theatre Stage combines puppetry, shadows, illusion and especially composed music, perfect for this fairytale classic.
